Started by the Lower East Side BID, the 100 Gates Project was a beautification initiative aimed at connecting business owners and the NYC artist community to beautify underused canvases in the form of metal rolldown gates. Over 18 months, the project expanded from LES to East Harlem, 6 neighborhoods across Staten Island and Flatbush, Brooklyn.
